crossing imaginary lines album preview concert & michal’s moving away party

After exploring solo acoustics in the Slow Album Release and integrating with yoga for the Fringe Festival, Michal Pearl Waldfogel now takes her music project to the next level. Hard at work (okay, and play, too) in the studio, Michal has been recording with a team of talented Philly musicians.

The release of her debut album coincides with Michal’s big move to Seattle, where she pursues studies in naturopathic medicine. As Michal leaves her beloved Philly communities, she leaves behind a piece of herself in the sweet, playful and inspirational sounds of Crossing Imaginary Lines.

You are warmly invited to this joyous celebration of community, of art, of life, of transition and of adventure. And take home a little something to remember it all by: a beautiful, handcrafted lyric book and preview of the studio-recorded album.

Acoustic Set at 8pm (with Jodie Kelly, violin; Ev Reheard, harmonies)
Rock Band Set at 8:45 (with Ajinkya Joglekar, percussion; Mark Wolfe, Bass)

I felt very relaxed at the show! I really enjoyed the message of each song and could relate to most of the experiences that Michal shared with us. It was very meaningful to me. ~I had no idea what to expect! ~I would recommend the show because it was unlike any other yoga class I have been to before. It was the perfect fusion of music and yoga! Sarah Ianacone

Crossing Imaginary Lines pushed the boundaries of traditional shows. Michal’s music is refreshingly unique and inspirational, and the format of the show allows participants to enjoy her tunes and anecdotal banter while doing some light yoga in a totally relaxed environment. The (imaginary) lines between audience and performer were blurred as everyone engaged in the quirky and exploratory experience together. -Ashley Novack

The show really got me to think about the borders and boundaries in my own life with the stories share both between and within the songs. I loved it! – Alon Hafri

I felt relaxed and encouraged on my journey. It was like inspirational, body-nourishing, musical story time!! What could be better?!

Crossing Imaginary Lines is more than a show, it is an experience. I left the show with a glow – relaxed and uplifted. Michal is sweet, authentic, and a real voice for what we can be an become. I was inspired.

It was a creative combination of talent and passion!

The movement, stories, and audience participation made me more fully engaged in the performance, so while I was relaxed and comfortable, I was also much more attentive and present the music. Very enjoyable experience overall.
